I arrived for 9(!!!) nights and asked for a possibly quiet room. I got a room on the seventh floor with an awful noise. The view from the window were walls all around. Darkness in the middle of the day. So I changed the room and got room 222 - even worse - all the aircondition system of the hotel behind the window , So again I asked to change the room for a quiet one - I wanted to rest and sleep at night. Sim, no ano passado fiquei aqui e fui bem tratada, este ano só decepção, pedimos quarto com cama queen e nos deram cama de casal, porta que não fechava direito(tanto que chegamos e a porta do quarto estava aberta), toalhas que a noite faltavam, e por ÚLTIMO.......a noite deixaram em minha porta uma conta, pedimos checkout prolongado, pois minha mãe tem 78 anos e cobraram, e a nota tinha mais FACILITY FREE 14,70dolares por dia, e Sales tax other 1,30 por dia, perguntamos o que é isto, Haaaa, é a água, o café e o jornal que NÃ... read more

Worst hotel we ever stayed in. Entrance hall looks nice. As we check in they asked for a large deposit, even though we had booked through a travel agent. Deposit was more than contents of the room. Went to the room, thought it was the broom cupboard, far to small. Poor lighting and very dated. Went back to reception and moved to another slightly large room, still very dated and not in great condition. Expected a lot more for the price we paid

The hotel is really dirty, old fashioned and crew is trying to take advantage of you by asking to pay an extra early checking fee of 150$ !!!! The bathroom is really not small, and even dangerous, don't let me start with the most beautiful view and ... no tissue for instance ! And the best : the noise of course !! We are so lucky to have such a bad room, that we are going to spend the time that we are here outside ! Unfortunately I can't post pictures for your entertainment ....

Property is currently under renovation so a lot of holes in the walls throughout the hotel. First room we were in the wallpaper was peeling off and there were cracks in the drywall on the ceiling. Had to be moved to another room because of some drilling noise that was on the same floor we were on and this was going on at 630 pm when we were trying to relax. Cable was out two of the nights and the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night on two other nights. First time at 230 am and the second time at 545 am with someon... read more

We stayed at the Edison from December 15-21 / 2017. Reception was always crowded, but the attendant was very friendly, there was no possibility to chek in advance. The room is very small, but the location at the foot of times square is excellent. The internet is limited to 3 people per room and out of nowhere the signal drops, can be tricky in case of need. The Friedmanns restaurant at this time has queues and can be time consuming for breakfast. All the staff are well attentive, helpful.

I wouldn´t recommed this hotel if you plan to visit NY with children. We had a very bad experience last weekend, they did not respect our reservation and we had to wait almost two hours in a crowded lobby for our room (from 5 to 7 pm, while check-in is at 3 pm). We lost a tour that we have planned for and the manager didn´t care about our situation, traveling with three children of 7, 4 and 1 years old. My husband and I stayed here back in March of this year. It was our first time in NYC from Canada. I had done a lot of research on hotels. Trying to stay on a budget, I chose the Edison because the prices were reasonable and the location is amazing! We arrived about 2 hours before check in time. The hotel was very busy and the lobby very crowded. No early check in. We wanted to go exploring, so we checked our bags and headed out. We arrived back over 2 hours later. It was still very busy.
