Very lacking in nursing care. The aides are great but I'm not impressed with the 2 nurses they have had. For example, found my mom in her nightgown at 4 pm, still in her room, not feeling good, and all her pills on the floor.

Overall the experience was not pleasurable for our family. My mother-in-law never liked the place and did not feel safe there, however, there were two family members that did not help the situation and fed her fears and dislikes. I felt American House had potential and we could have possibly worked out the issues but it never happened. Management fails to provide adequate staffing. It is typical to have one caregiver on the floor on weekends. Care & activities are substandard for a memory care unit. Staff tries their best but it is impossible to provide good care for those with special needs. I would not recommend this American House for memory care.

Moving mom to this facility was the worst decision. We moved her out today after 17 months. Since November we have battled bed bugs. This has cost us thousands in furniture and removal fees and for mom countless days of itching and aggravation. Since day 1 we battled incompetence in medication administration. They missed doses some days. They doubled doses some days. They recorded meds given that weren’t. In our 17 months they have had 5 Wellness Directors. Housekeeping was almost non existent. American House Wyoming left us with a not so great impression Our tour guide didn’t even know he was supposed to meeting with us that day. The tour felt haphazard, and I didn't really get a good vibe.

Housekeeping is so poor-u can write your name in the dust. Half of memory care unit was turned into a covid unit. Staff is hardly visible. Residents are unkept and left in rooms all day. Rarely taken outdoors in available courtyard garden due to lack of staffing. 7th executive director in 5 years just let go. So sad to see what continues on & on at this place. My loved one was dirty. His clothes looked filthy. He always wore the same clothes every day. They referred to him as a number. If I came to visit, they would call and refer to him as his room number and not his name. One time they brought down the wrong gentleman, who sat there for half an hour before they realized it was the wrong guy. It was a horrible experience. Don’t be fooled by the beautiful facility, the lack of care and constant employee turn over is extremely stressful to the residents. They are unable to form personal connections with the staff because they are always getting new people or having agencies come in to cover shifts after everyone calls in. Staff would rather hide and be on their phones than actually help the residents. The review before this is so right on. Was hoping the new management would make a difference! And it is so traumatic to move a parent in memory care so these reviews are the only tool that families have to warn others & push for change. Concern sheets & meetings mean nothing when the director does not make sure personnel have work ethic & supervision.
