Long story short THE WORST VACATION I HAVE EVER HAD THANKS TO THIS HORRIBLE EXCUSE FOR A HOTEL. Everything was awful besides the ocean access which is what happens to be one of the main reasons I chose this hotel. I can deal with noisy people above me. I can deal with staff not wearing masks. I can deal with the rooms being severely dated. However, I can not deal with disrespectful staff and living like a barbaric Neanderthal for 5 days. view from the rooms is nice, but very poor service. it was 2 and a half hours after check in time when our room was finally ready, staff is not helpful and very often we didn't have towels. at night there are unattended kids and what are most likely drunks up and down halls being loud. not very clean either, found a huge gob of hair in our room and hallways obviously haven't been vacuumed in days. there are lipstick prints on the WALL in the hallway that has been there for three days.

So, if you would like clean, bug-free rooms and appropriately behaved management, I would book elsewhere. Very disappointed in Hotel Tybee and the management. I found multiple bugs that appeared to be cockroaches in the bathroom immediately after checking into the room. I stayed about 15 minutes, and the hotel has refused to refund me fully. Beware! Bait & switch advertising. Received an email from them announcing their annual $99 per night sale on rooms. The ad specifically states "any room $99, our best sale of the year, all rooms just $99 including rooms with an ocean view". Required a 2 night stay, and based on availability. We tried to book an ocean view room, that was available per their website and confirmed by hotel staff was available for 3 nights, at the advertised rate. It was noisy and expensive. The room we were in wasn’t that nice for the price. There was no shampoo in the bathroom and we ended not getting any even after going to the front desk. The bathroom was really small . Overall I just wasn’t happy with the experience.

cleanliness is non existent. mold in rooms, poor maintenance and staff members who were supposed to be sanitizing rooms did not wear masks.

The website boasted about the precautions they were taking at this location to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Upon check in I inquired about any type of requirements that we should be aware of I.e. masks in the elevators and hallways. The clerk shrugged her shoulders and said uh no we’re not really doing anything. Super!! So glad to feel safe. They have hand sanitizer stations at the elevators that were consistently empty. Sent the below to the GM with no reply... I’m writing this morning after a less than enjoyable experience at the Hotel Tybee. The customer service we received was awful and, as a business owner myself, I felt you would want to know. We were looking to extend our Tybee vacation for 1 more night after a stay in one of the homes on the island.
