Gerard is following the money (or so he thinks) and kicked out an institution.. The Cafe Edison..good hearty food at great prices.. Broadway actors, dancers, stagehands etc mingled with the common folk(us) while eating matzoh ball soup, latkes, blintzes ... Now it's gone... Despicable business practices..SHAME.. Do NOT go near Hotel Edison for any reason..
The ownership of the hotel has evicted the well loved Cafe Edison. This is a disservice to patrons of the hotel, as well as an enormous loss to the community, and all New Yorkers. I will never let a friend, or visitor to NYC stay here ever again. Very misguided action on their part.
Not happy with Hotel Edison for ousting Cafe Edison. Poor Form. And I shall never book a room at your establishment again.
A message to all potential visitors: Do NOT patronize this dump, as it is infested with RATS! Well, one very large two-legged rat, at least - the owner who has evicted the legendary Cafe Edison, a universally beloved and thriving local business, out of sheer greed and short-sighted ambition.
The hotel's throwing out the Cafe Edison, the beloved, still-successful New York institution delighting generations in the theater district and drawing countless clients to the hotel itself, is a disgrace. Shame on the Hotel Edison.
Save Cafe Edison! A great institution that served great Jewish food at reasonable prices. Makes no sense that they're shutting it down.
There are far too many good hotels in this city to spend your hard earned money at a place like this. Unfortunately, the owner of this hotel has decided that adding a few extra bucks to his inherited wealth is worth more than keeping a thriving institution (along with 30 or so jobs) in business.
The owner of this crappy place broke a promise his father had made to the hotel's longtime restaurant owner (a place held sacrosanct by Broadway performers and theater industry) and evicted them less than a year after his father died. These people are mundane, spiteful and heartless, and with no understanding of how to be meaningful members of the community. SHAME ON THE HOTEL EDISON
