I recently began the difficult task of choosing the right assisted living (memory care) community for my father. I visited a number of nice care communities, but when I visited Commonwealth Senior Living East Paris, I knew almost immediately that I had found a place my dad could truly call his home. My parents are now residents at Commonwealth Senior living in Grand Rapids, Michigan at the East Paris location. The staff is extremely attentive, patient and caring for all of my parents needs. The director, Amy Simon, goes “above and beyond” to make sure my parents are well cared for as my parents have numerous needs. All in all the staff treats all residents with dignity and abundance of care.

The facility may be lovely at first glance, but they are not good at keeping the residents rooms clean at all such as emptying trash cans, picking things up from the floor like wrappers or leaves from flowers and all the dirty linens and wet dirty clothing are thrown on the floor in the corner and will stay there for days and the linens and the towels are all stained. The facility is very nice and the lunch served to my friend looked good. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. My complaint is that atmosphere when I was there seemed really boring for the people living there. What kinds of activities are there for the residents and how often do they occur? A variety of activities throughout the day would be very helpful. Maybe you do that and I just didn't see it because I was there at lunch time.
