It has the potential of being a great place but supervision needs to be tighter. Too much of people standing around either waiting for others to do job or things just not getting done. I felt they wanted my husband to go on hospice so the facility staff didn't have to do as much. He was in memory care & I always felt the residents there didn't get as much attention as others & they needed more.

It is a small and caring community. I would recommend to others!
Staff is very dedicated to residents from what I have seen. Regardless of their position, of Director, Nursing Director, Recruitment or Events Coordinator, all are willing to assist in any way possible. The only negative is there is not enough staff. We are very pleased with Commonwealth Senior Living at Radford.
We had an issue with dad's safety in memory care, but there are many good things we could say as well. It's unfortunate. I would maybe recommend for; assisted living, but not sure about memory care.

What we like the most about the community is the friendly staff, and my aunt is happy there. We would definitely recommend the Commonwealth Senior Living community to other families based on the experience we have had so far.

We love the activities department and its staff as well as the food service. Overall we are satisfied.
For the most part, it is the better of similar facilities. Personally I think they could do a better job of communication. After 5 PM, could use more staff. I've been there in evenings & needed assistance for my loved one so I pulled the cord. Very slow response on more than two occasions. Also cord cannot be reached by patient in memory care when in bed. They do a great job on programs & trying to engage their residents in activities.
Like all facilities there is always a shortage of staff, especially nights. Administration staff is great! Kind caring and accommodating to needs. Whenever we have a concern, those concerns are met as soon as possible. One problem I've seen is the roomand especially bath room was not well cleaned. I gave gone several times and cleaned the room and bathroom myself. Again, shortage of staff i am sure. At commonwealth senior living at radford, it is a quiet community, and the people are nice. It is a good value for the money compared to other complexes. A great choice overall!
