It is a passion for some of the staff, and a job for others on the staff, for any of these facilities... Location-wise for our family, Common Wealth was priceless for the short time of 15 days and her passing... A "Place for Mom" really came through for us... Common Wealth was my mom's 3rd place of stay, in her very active end of life journey. A place for mom was very helpful.

Had a couple issues with the staff, but the director took care of the issues. My aunt has adjusted to the change, which is hard for her, any change. The staff all know her. The dining room/kitchen staff all know her dietary issues of what she can't have and they usually do a great job. I've eaten there a few times and the food is good. Her hearing is very bad, but she doesn't miss bingo! She sits by the caller so she can hear the numbers being called. They have an activities director who is very good. My mom got great care ,for her last days, with the Common Wealth staff support ,and hospice care!! Our experience was comfortable, from the perspective that she was in good hands and safe...

It's a fantastic community!My mom said "I could live here". Then wanted to move in the next day. I would recommend to others. It's very clean, friendly and compassionate.

I have already recommended this place for another family member. And I chose this place because it was so close to home. They took good care of mom until she passed.
My loved one was previously a resident at Commonwealth Senior Living at Grand Rapids and overall his experience at this facility was good. The facility was clean and the staff was friendly and responsive to questions and/or requests. They advertise their meals as farm to table. That is not really what I observed, but they were dealing with quite a variety of tastes and appetites.
I'm thankful the Commonwealth Senior Living at Grand Rapids community provides family events and encourages visitors. Our parents love the food there and there are many outings planned weekly for residents!
