There are many wonderful things I could say about Commonwealth but I'll keep try and keep my review short. My grandma, who had vascular dementia, lived there for over 3 years and to say they did a wonderful job taking care of her is an understatement. The place was always clean, the staff always friendly and my grandma's needs and wants always met with with far exceeded expectations. My Mother- in- law lived in this Community for almost 3 years. The last 2 years she resided in the Sweet Memories wing. We recently lost her, I would like to take the time to thank you all so much for taking such wonderful care of her. We so appreciate every single one of you and everything you did for her and our family. Not only is the staff wonderful but we always found the Community clean and peaceful.

I have called this place twice to check on my grandma who has raised me and has dementia….i can’t even be informed if my grandmother is alive because I’m apparently not on her list…I’m aware of what HIPAA is, I literally just wanted to know if my grandmother is alive as I seem to be the only one in my family that would visit her. I can’t call her personal phone because she does not have one anymore and she can’t even remember how to use a phone…I live 2hours away from her so it is harder for me to visit her. My father lived at Commonwealth Grand Rapids for 2 ½ years, and what we experienced was deeply disappointing. While a few caregivers truly loved him and showed compassion, the system itself is broken. We witnessed neglect, poor food, preventable issues, misleading advertising and even failures in his final hours, leaving him without the care and dignity he deserved.
