Dumb name, cool property with memory unit, levels of care. Not far from Byron Center.

Put the patients name on everything! Clothing, shoes, bedding. Don't send any valuable clothing. A brand new pair of Levi's and two very nice sweaters disappeared and were never found as well as some of my husband's bedding. Also the food in memory care was not even close to the farm to table we were promised.

The quality of care is good, but staff number is low for the level of care needed and the number of residents there. There is too much frozen and/or processed foods served to the residents. Activities are very unorganized and the activities do not follow the monthly schedule given. Much was promised at the interview, but not followed through ... you have to be a consistent advocate for your loved one and always follow through because they do not reach out until you ask ... I would tell others looking to maybe talk to some of... read more

I would not recommend Addington Place. In the short time, my husband was there, they lost his teeth and they moved him out of memory care without telling us. We never got any copies of the paperwork that was signed. They did not deliver what they promised.

I placed my aunt in Addington on Feb 22nd and it has been the most horrible experience so far! The fact my aunt lives in Michigan and I live in Kentucky has been highly stressful because my aunt's needs are not being met and when reported, staff members say the right stuff; but they do nothing. Within her two week stay, my aunt has fallen at least four times; while being assisted by aids. The most recent fall of March 6th, left my aunt's face badly bruised and fingers on her left hand in intense pain; no x-rays were taken. I... read more

Addington Place of Grand Rapids is not as advertised on their website. The meals are not “home cooked” unless you call heating up foods from Gordon’s Foods home cooked. The meals are way time big calorie and there is no room for change! I frankly don’t know how the diabetics manage unless they just increase their medications. Experienced, dedicated staff that offer personalized care with compassion is very small in number. Most staff have little to no experience and are “trained” at the facility which sometimes means putting... read more

While the daytime/weekday staff seemed very nice and competent, we had repeated trouble with the night/weekend staff forgetting medications or not handling them properly. My father-in-law was not only having trouble with regulating his blood pressure but was also suffering from CDIF, which required that his medication be refrigerated. It was not. Sadly, we had to move him.

Addington Place 68th St Gand Rapids DO NOT GO THERE. rooms are a nice size. The staff, nurse and Director are all nice and give you the right answers. (many new directors) Staff Doctor does not do what he is suppose to. They do not properly care for the residents. My guy was there for a little over a year and was hospitalized multiple times for dehydration and infections. They did not keep a cup with a lid and straw next to his bed. They gave him a 4 ounce open cup that of course would go down his shirt when he tried to drin... read more

My father was only at this community for a short time before I had removed him from the facility for poor quality of care. There where a couple of great caregivers that where good but that is about all of the good thing i have to say about this place. They really dropped the ball on the medical aspect of his care and my family and I where very disappointed in how they handled things. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Business response:

I am sorry to hear that your experience at Crystal Springs was not good. Since your father’s stay, we have a new management company and a new executive director. We take resident care very seriously and have also brought in two new physician groups to oversee the resident’s care. We would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you in person about your experience and use your feedback to continue to improve our services.
