Toured the facility, it was clean and the Director in training very informative. Didn't see alot of visual stimulation that I feel is very important for my Mom.
Thought all personnel were very friendly; loved the courtyards; bedrooms were larger than Cedar Manor and had a bath/shower in the room.
Very nice, smaller community than others in the area, nice large rooms. All the administrators were very friendly and helpful. The meals were well prepared and tasty!! The only draw back was the healthcare, my father was assessed as a level 5 (highest) which we were promised he'd get extra care which cost more. However, it was no different from level 1 and the nursing staff was terrible!! Inattentive, didn't take extra time for his needs, treated him more like a hassle than a person. We picked this community because of the price, which is one of the highest of all that I investigated, I would hope the rooms to be higher quality. The closet doors, lighting, are on the level of low quality apartment rentals, and the maintenence around d the building is especially poor, with piled maintenance refuse behind the building....which is especially regrettable given the center is in an overall upscale region. My mother resided at this facilities for over 4 years, the service at the begining was marginal; and with a change in management - there was significent improvement. We were pleased. The last 18 months, staff has changed, service has decreased, and cleanliness has deteriorated. Mom fell twice within a 2 week periord, the first time we were in the ER for over 9 hours she ended up with two black eyes, and a huge knot on her head. I went to go see this community and really was not that impressed with it. The rooms were to small. The staff seemed to be helpful and answered all questions. The community was clean. It just was not a good place for my parents.
