Founded in 1951 in UCLA's Royce Hall by University employees, University Credit Union (UCU) is a financial cooperative dedicated to giving the university community a financial edge. I've been a member of UCU since February 1986 when I became employed as a Program Director at UCLA Extension. As a new member, UCU took me under their wing to: set up my checking/savings account so that my monthly salary was automatically deposited; provided an easy-to-use debit card (no fees charged); and eventually qualified us for a mortgage on excellent terms.
