In July of 2014 my Mom passed away. Being the center of all of our lives, it was very hard on all of us, especially my Dad, having been married for 68 years. After a long year of trying to find the perfect place to move my grandmother, Leigh Hall was recommended twice in a 24 hour period. I made an appointment, met with Ilene Lipton, and chose Leigh Hall. Since making that decision, I have been so pleased with everyone and everything. They were very accommodating to my time line. I recently toured Leigh Hall as an option for my mom and dad and was so impressed with the inviting nature and warm staff. It's central location will make it easier for my sister and I to visit and the rooms are larger than any community we've visited so far. The Director of Sales and Marketing so was so helpful and knowledgeable. We felt very reassured that our parents would be in great hands.
From what I can see it looks clean to me, however occasionally, I smell a urine odor, just every now and then. Some of the nurses aren't too friendly, but everyone else is very nice. I think they take really good care of my dad, especially the people in charge. They want me to tell them right away, if I have any concerns. They have plenty of activities going on, my dad is walking a lot more, and he's doing stuff, and he has really improved. He's very happy with the food. One of our top priorities (after resident care) is to make sure our community is clean and smelling fresh always. Unfortunately incontinence is part of some of our residents' life cycle. We are very pro active in removing all soiled materials immediately, however occasionally emergencies do arise that take precedence. Do not hesitate to let us know should it happen again in the future.

All our rooms have full baths and we also have the option of a private and a private suite which is a one bedroom. We used to be a suites hotel so our rooms are rather large compared to other options in the area. I would love to show you first hand what our unique community has to offer.
They truly sell the impression of a happy and committed staff. They are very good at exposing the right residents to potential residents. Of course, that is their job. If the family of the loved one who moves in is not a constant in the residence, both day and night, a lot will be missed in your loved one's care. We did not receive the care we guaranteed, and that's even with us watching. Food was subpar. Management was worse. I would NOT recommend this place, not even to my worst enemy.

This is not a place that I would recommend and I do not believe that you should be recommending this place either. They do not stand up to their promises nor do they have the staff to care for the residence there.

The Resident Care Associates (RCA) can be very aggressive when providing bathing care. Baby wipes are often used to wash instead of soap/water and wash cloths. Residents may have their own items provided by family members but they are not typically used. Residents are yelled at for trying to help remove clothes when it is time to change and when trying to exercise their independence.
