The room I had at the Algonquin was perfect. I’ve stayed at many hotels and there wasn’t one a single detail in the room I could complain about. Everything was in great shape and comfortable. The room was very quiet I hardly ever heard anyone and the hotel itself had a quiet relaxed feeling. The pool was good and there was a nice slide and spa as well. Had a fabulous two night stay at the historic Algonquin! The front desk staff were quick and efficient during check-in. Our room was located in the older part of the hotel, was nicely decorated, however a little smaller then we are use to. Our only complaint was the electrical cords that were awkwardly placed and should be better hidden for safety sake. The Pub was a great place for our dinner plans and included live music. This property has a gorgeous exterior and a great lobby/restaurant. Service was good. Breakfast was delicious. Our room however, left us scratching our heads in confusion. First, we are lifetime Platinum with Marriott, but we were placed in a small room. The hotel wasn’t busy, so we wonder why we weren’t upgraded to a nicer room. We had our daughter with us, so we were charged $25 for a roll-away bed (refunded) that was terribly uncomfortable until a nice guy brought us three blankets to help provide some cushion as the... read more
Seaside luxury at its best! From the moment I arrived with my 5 year old chihuahua l, Hudson, until we departed, we received the highest level of service this side of the Atlantic. Hudson celebrated his 5th birthday here. The impeccable team treated him like a little prince. We had the best time. The daily evening Ghost Tour is a must, as is Sunday Roast in the Pub. The team at this property is without comparison. Hudson and I look forward to our return.
