This is an older hotel. It did the job but is not fancy. It was quiet and the bed was comfortable. Room was clean. The staff were amazing. I was able to walk just about everywhere I went which was really nice. I loved that it was tucked into a corner. It felt like a retreat from the busy city.
I'm hesitant to leave a review because I don't want the best kept secret in Washington DC hotels to get out. Ignore what haters say about construction or it being dated. Overall not a bad stay. Good location. Staff was fine. Room was just fine. Parking garage is small & has a lot of hazardous areas. Can hit your car on many things hanging from the ceiling, our car was damaged. Hardly any signs about the tight & unfitting spaces. Staff was helpful about the damage but overall should be a better lot that your guests are parking at.
We stayed at this hotel over the weekend, and it was fantastic. We had a room with a balcony, and it was so convenient because we were right in the city center—just a minute’s walk from the White House, and a minute’s walk from downtown. It was perfectly located. But above all, the staff was incredibly friendly—they even allowed us a late checkout and an early check-in. The staff was just so kind.
The location itself is great — very central to everything. However, the hotel is still under construction and does not offer room service. You also have to come downstairs to receive any guest or visitor at any hour of the day. The front desk will not call up or send them up, which feels unreasonable. I understand there may be security concerns, but it makes you wonder what the purpose of the front desk is if they cannot assist with basic guest coordination.
