I have a soft spot for grand old hotels...if they are kept up and run well. The rooms are just a bit smaller than newer hotels, but very comfortable. The walls were actually solid and soundproof - like in the good old days. Everything worked, and the staff was awesome. Friendly, relaxed, attentive. Excellent location, especially for a business trip. Cozy dining and sitting areas. Beautiful building. Valet parking is available. There are a few historic hotels in DC. This is a gem.
I met friends for Afternoon Tea. The service/ wait staff were five stars but the hotel was obviously absolutely beautiful at one time, but needs updating. The dining room wasn't anything special. The tea was beautifully served and food was delicious. But, I thought at $80.00 a person, very expensive. Again, the best part of the experience was the waiter who really was fabulous.
I surprisingly enjoyed my time here. Unique hotel: over 100 years old and very "vintage" looking. Tudor style building. Rooms were modernized, clean, and cozy. Smaller hotel and rooms, however enough space for a couple. Excellent location in a walkable area.
I had a wonderful stay here. The bed was possibly the most comfortable I've ever slept on in a hotel. It was so hard to wake up when the time came. Great service too.
I stayed at The Henley Park hotel for a business trip in February and it was exceptional. The staff were all incredibly nice. Binod at the bar/restaurant totally elevated the whole experience for me. In the middle of a busy city, his friendliness and kindness brought so much character, authenticity, and stillness to the atmosphere. I really enjoyed my stay.
