We stayed here for 5 nights with our 5 month old baby for a little R&R away from the northeast. We are so happy we chose The Don. It is an interesting and beautiful historic property right on a gorgeous beach with pools and several nice spots to eat and drink on site. The place is well managed and we felt very well take care of. From day 1, what made our experience were the wonderful people who work throughout the resort. Our stay at The Don CeSar was truly a 5 star experience from beginning to end. The Christmas Brunch was magnificent, and our balcony overlooking the Gulf gave us the most beautiful sunsets. The champagne welcome at check in set the perfect tone for our holiday stay. Every staff member we met was genuinely wonderful — warm, attentive, and professional — even if I can’t remember every name. The Don CeSar is hands down our favorite staycation spot for our family. The service is always excellent, and the location truly cannot be beat - right on the beach with chairs, loungers, and easy access to food and drinks, whether you’re by the pool or down on the sand. There are two pools, perfect for kids, and they usually have activities for both kids and adults throughout the stay, which makes it feel fun and easy without needing to plan much. The worst experience I’ve ever had in my 52 years on this earth in a hotel or resort ! My first review as a world traveler !!! Stayed there as part of my wedding day honeymoon .. yes we left right away after 2 days .. was treated so poorly had few guest after wedding questioned as if we were having event so they left after spending $400 on bar bill without finishing eating or drinking as told we were being investigated was the word .. make sure we were not having an event by 4 dif staff that were all mgrs so rude and ignoran... read more

The Don has it all—private white sand beach, two pools, two restaurants, multiple bars, plus shopping and a convenience store with ice cream, snacks, and coffee. Beach chairs and umbrellas were always available to be set up for you, with great beachside service for drinks and food. Same goes for the two pools, though seating there can be a bit more limited. The hotel is about a 25 minute walk from a ton of great restaurants and coffee shops (highly recommend doing the walk along the beach). The only thing that would make the... read more
