For a super 8 in the tenderloin, I was expecting worse. First off - the area is kinda sketch; Second: don’t rate the hotel poorly because of the shady people who live on the streets. That’s not a hotel problem. Upon entry, it looks super outdated (hello, Super 8!) with a front desk, computer and printer, stairs & one elevator. Hallways into the rooms are in good condition. Had a great time, we had a pleasant surprise, We booked a standard queen room, but when we got there was informed that we got upgraded to a queen suite and it was really nice. Especially with all of the different choices in San Francisco most not having a restroom in the room this not only had a full restroom but a bathtub and a separate room with a TV. The room was clean and comfortable, and the front desk staff were very helpful, especially the morning receptionist. However, the location was not ideal, as there were often homeless or intoxicated individuals outside the property, which made it difficult to comfortably step out for fresh air.

Rooms were updated and clean. Continental breakfast consisted of toast, bagel, or cereal (x2), and juice so obviously no breakfast at all. David’s diner and Pinecrest diner are around the corner within walking distance. City bus 38 R has a stop in front of hotel.

Good proximity to the train station and direct connections to the international airport. The staff are always smiling and helpful. A shoutout to the room service crew for keeping the place tidy.
