We arrived in Key West early in the morning and stopped by the hotel to ask if we could park our car while we explored the area before check-in. The front desk staff was incredibly accommodating—not only did she allow us to park, but she also checked us in early at no extra charge, upgraded us to a king room, and even offered us breakfast. The hotel was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Everything about our stay was perfect. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Key West!
If you're looking for a posh resort hotel, this is probably not for you. But if you're looking for a relatively clean and well-maintained older hotel in an amazing location for a reasonable price then this place is for you. It's not fancy or swanky but is one block from Duval Street and a couple of blocks from the southernmost point landmark. It is in the heart of the southernmost district. This was a last minute night stay in Key West. The staff was very friendly and the pools were nice and warm! The motels were almost like little bungalow rooms. The only complaint we had was the walk to our room from the check-in office with all of our luggage. The inside was decorated nicely, and the beds were comfortable still had a little bit of a motel feel, but definitely was with some luxuries. My fiancé and I were a little nervous booking a motel but this exceeded our expectations! All we wanted when booking was to stay at a place that was in a good location and offered a clean room & bed for a cheap price for Key West. We did not need any frills since it was only 2 of us staying for 1 night. This motel was exactly what we needed and was honestly nicer and more comfortable than we expected. Loved The Southwinds for our stay in Key West. Our room was comfortable and large, old but still comfortable. Poor water pressure was our only complaint but we dealt with it. Great location.
