I have stayed here several times, drawn in part by the very reasonable pricing. I enjoy the quirkiness and antique qualities of the hotel, and developed a warm feeling for its old-world charm. The rooms with Hollywood star names on them got me curious; we stayed once in the "James Stewart" room. There will be mustiness, and a sense that the building has seen better days, but if you prefer a space with character to a bare, modern motel room, you will enjoy this place. It has many out of the way corners and photos of its past... read more
Love this place. Ive gone with my girlfriend here a couple of times and we are a lesbian couple. We love going here because staff always treats us well. They're always super friendly and answer any questions we need, and assist us. Rooms are always clean and comfy. We love the historic look to the hotel. We've been to the bar and the restaurant both have amazing service being fast and friendly. The ghost tour was very spooky and would recommend to go to a tour. Always a good experience at the Santa Maria Inn. We just went to... read more
Jimmy the general manager is so professional, polite and makes you feel special. He hooked us up with a great room and paid attention to detail. The room was perfect for us. It was large, 2 very clean and comfortable beds and a hot shower. The room was very clean though showing its age. It is history, charming and I would be happy to stay again.
Writing this from my hotel room and really disappointed with my experience here. I booked a stay at the Historic Santa Maria Inn after learning about its history and, more specifically, the stories about the hotel being haunted. Before arriving, I had read online that guests could ask about a midnight ghost tour, so when we checked in, I asked the front desk about it. Sure enough, they said yes, added our names to the list, and told us to meet in the lobby at midnight. I was excited! When we showed up, the employee who was ... read more
Visiting my son in Santa Maria. I booked 4 days at Santa Maria Inn. The room was simple. This is an old hotel but very unique. It is definitely not a cookies cutter like other hotels. The price is very good per night. They do have a pool, a parking garage, and a nice little garden. They also have a bar. FyI, no breakfast. There is a restaurant down the street name 'The Pantry' great for breakfast. Definitely recommended for an overnight stay.
