Rooms are basic motel, but are well maintained. Property is also well maintained and the thermal pools are nice and warm. Location is one block off main Street in Calistoga and walking distance to anything downtown.

The Roman Spa is our favorite place to stay in Calistoga! It’s clean, cozy and cute!! A family owned resort where you feel welcome.

Nice 3-star hotel and spa. The room was adequate and clean. The courtyards were very charming and the groundskeeper was an amazing. I was curious about the spring water system and he was more than happy to explain and show me the system. The pool temperatures were a bit wonky (the indoor pool was not very hot). My wife’s massage was not very strong, more like gentle rubbing. And a mandatory 20% tip on massages, the receptionist told us it’s policy and didn’t offer any concessions.

We've going there for years, but this time there was a 12,000 + acre fire not far from the Roman Spa, with zero containment this morning. The smoke was bad to breath, so we had to leave day early, on my wife's birthday. I asked for a credit and they said NO.

Loved our stay! Locals said it’s the OG spot in town and it definitely was. Cozy rooms, great gardens and scenery around the grounds, amazing couples mud baths, and a solid location near everything. Would definitely recommend!
