I stay here frequently when traveling to San Diego for work. It's a fantastic location and just 1 block from the beach. The rooms are clean and smell fresh. Vanessa who works mornings at the front desk is the best! She is very friendly and accommodating. She always goes out of her way to make my stay the best I highly recommend PB Surf Beachside inn !

The receptionist was very bureaucratic and inflexible. She made my elderly mother sit outside for an hour even after we spoke to her on the phone. Also, they have a sign asking you to stay outside of the office if someone else is inside. Really gives off the feeling that you aren't very welcome. The carpets are filthy. The bedding is simple, the bathroom fixtures are very worn. The hotel is a block from the beach. Parking is difficult.

Having come in from LA late at night, we were pretty tired and stressed. But the front desk team made check-in smooth and pleasant. Elena was polite, professional, and I appreciated how seamless the process was. Great location for the price. I will definitely be staying here again!

While the rooms are nothing fancy, it deserves the full stars because of the value, location, and service. Extremely grateful for this spot. I went to San Diego for the first time with no plans on where to stay, what to do, or any agenda, but ended up meeting some locals at a bar in Pacific Beach and ended up hanging the whole night. This was right down the block and a great deal for a place to sleep for the night.
