While the property is in an excellent location to the beach, the initial impression is one of a rundown motel. That being said, they are in the process of doing a refresh and I'm sure it'll look great when done. I had issues ensuring that the room was stocked properly, but the front desk lady was very accommodating and helpful in getting things sorted out. While parking is free (an awesome win), it is tight. I grew up vacationing at Pacific Shores Inn for about 16 years. I was excited to finally give my own family the same vacation memories I had growing up. Unfortunately, the hotel has changed significantly. It used to be well maintained and even offered pastries in the morning, but those days are gone. This is the best hotel there possibly is. A total hidden gem. I almost want to gate keep this because it is the only place my family of five will stay when we come to San Diego!!! As a mother of three their housekeeping service is top-notch. Rooms are clean and I always feel safe with my three children there. Everyone is friendly and kind and I couldn’t rave about this place and the staff more!!! Thank you so much for making our family vacations truly magical.

Rooms were nice and clean. Location was excellent with easy access to the beach. Parking was a little crowded if you arrive in late evening, but we always managed to find a spot. Pool was a really good temperature! Only downside is there were a lot of people living out of cars and vans right outside the window on the public street, but this isn't the hotel's fault.

Update: after the first night I asked if they could do something about the air conditioning. Maintenance changed out the unit and it works much better. This hotel will meet your needs but there is definitely room for improvement. The room was very spacious which it nice when traveling with a pet. It was also pretty clean and smelled nice when we walked in. The location is pretty good, very walkable area. There is also a desk with a chair.
