The Good: The customer service at Old Town Inn is excellent. We arrived ahead of schedule, and the staff graciously accommodated us with an early check-in at absolutely no extra charge. The on-site amenities were also a lifesaver during our long trip. The pool was incredibly refreshing and never felt overcrowded, while the coin-operated laundry facilities (make sure you have quarters!) were very convenient. I’ve stayed at Old Town Inn three times now, and it’s consistently been a great experience. The location is a huge plus. It’s right next to Old Town, the transit center, and easy freeway access, which makes getting around super convenient. That said, the immediate neighborhood is pretty industrial, so if you’re hoping for scenic San Diego views, this probably isn’t the spot. But honestly, the value makes up for it. What a fantastic experience we had staying at The Old Town Inn - San Diego! From our check-in to our departure, we were touched by the kindness of the staff! The excellent breakfast which was so much better than the typical “breakfast included” was enjoyed by all and the quaint beauty of the hotel and grounds are just across the street from Old Town and the train station so it was easy to walk about. The continental breakfast was decent, No hot items except waffles and limited selection of bagged pastries. We still wound up at Denny's before Church. But good for a morning snack. We did enjoy the secure feeling of the building access, elevators and stairwells needed key for entry. Room was comfortable and clean, a little tight but it did have a fridge! Good location in terms of convenience to restaurants and museums. Family owned, very welll taken care of. Has a free coffee bar all day. Close to trolley and buses if you are looking to commute via city metro methods. Pool was not heated but, not too cold not to enjoy.
