I was in the lobby during the 1pm hour on 11/25/25. 4-5 employees could not even acknowledge me! Nuts! Then they enabled a rude person to have a cell phone conversation in the lobby which was arrogant and disruptive to the people. The manager was clueless with the white hair. This place needs full vetting before they go to townebank. None of them are worthy of handling monopoly money and should not be allowed to work with the public. They are ridiculous with the over draft fees. It use to be that you had until the end of the day to put money in your account before they charged this fee, now they charge you immediately if you overdraft ($35). Not only that but they have 2 different types of overdraft fees so that they dont miss an opportunity to charge you. They are becoming like the big banks now, no longer for the people of the community the way they use to brag about being. Extremely disappointed with them now!
My husband and I have been banking with Old Point for 4 years. I can only speak for the Independence location, and I have only nice things to say. They're not only helpful, but personable; always asking about how we're doing and sharing their own stories. Sometimes I'll go into the location to do something I could have done on the app just so I can sit down and talk. I'll be banking here for a long time to come.
So I have recently opened up a new motorcycle loan with this Bank due to its low interest rate. I logged on to old point national Bank website to find I am unable to transfer from my Bank of America to my loan with old point like a normal bank. Naturally my first instinct is to go to one of their locations off South Independence and see if it is user error so I may conveniently start paying my loan. I've had some good experience so far with the Norfolk Granby Street location that bank manager is extremely nice the only thing is I opened an account at the end out August and I still don't have a debit card and it's so hard to set up an online banking like any other bank
