My wife and I did a one night escape to the North Shore, wanting to smell the ocean and play tourist for a little bit. Our very clean room had a great view of the Atlantic, with Thatcher's Island to the North with its iconic twin lighthouses. That most likely would have been enough for a great evening away, but the stay was much nicer than just the view. With a "Widow's Walk" on the roof, a fire pit next to the pool and its cushioned lounges, to sit and listening to the wave hitting the shore, it was one of the most relaxing... read more

Our stay at Ocean House at Bass Rocks was honestly such a peaceful, beautiful experience—especially traveling with my son. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, making everything feel easy and comfortable right away. The views are absolutely unreal. Waking up and stepping out onto our balcony to the sound of the ocean… like actual waves crashing right below us… it doesn’t get better than that. It was one of those moments you just want to freeze and keep forever. The property itself is so ... read more

We had a quick getaway the very last weekend they were open last November (2025). We have stayed in many, many places close to the ocean but this place was, by far the best for the price! For allll the complaints about pricing, just go in the off season - it's more quiet and the price is much cheaper. We stayed in the King Suite with a STUNNING view of the ocean and could hear the waves at night. We had a blast playing billiards in their very cool historic building (I can't remember the last time I did that!) and the s... read more

Upgraded to a king suite so I paid more but lost the balcony that was in the picture. Although we where on the second floor there appeared to be a third floor that housed the hotels staff. Quite time is at 10 but the noise from upstairs with the stomping around and door slamming till 2am then started again at 4am made it impossible to get and sleep. I went and told the front desk the second day we where there just after 10 that it was super loud upstairs and we weren't able to sleep the day before because of the noise. They ... read more

This hotel is rated at 4 stars, I would give it a 2 at best. Our room was not ready for an hour after check in time. We were told a manager had to check the room first. We were also told we would get 10% off our first night. That did not happen. The manager was not thorough as we found a pair of men's underwear on the floor when we opened the curtain! We called the front desk to speak to a Manager, that never happened. We were there for our 40th wedding anniversary. We had brought a bottle of champagne to enjoy on our balcon... read more
