The first weekend in May of 2025, my girlfriend, who lives in LA, and I - from AZ - got together for a Palm Springs adventure. We chose the Movie Colony Hotel because it's adults only (very quiet), centrally located for restaurants, and, most of all, dog friendly. Our stay was amazing. Hotel is in great location but pool area lacked character. Staff was very nice. Unfortunately had a plumbing issue the first night. Fortunately the neighboring hotel sent their maintenance since The Movie Colony’s front desk closes at 8pm. This is a cute little boutique hotel that's 21+ and relatively quiet. The rooms are at a very reasonable rate for what you get (many rooms have spacious private balconies, a heated outdoor pool and hot tub, quaint bar, and access to the neighboring sister hotel's bar and restaurant). Parking isn't great, but there's available street parking on the same block. My new favorite place to stay in Palm Springs. The room was so cute and opened up to the pool/hot tub area. Daily happy hour was a great time to mingle with the other guests either in the lobby or by the pool. The staff was friendly and helpful. And Nate at the front desk was a delight. You can always tell how good a hotel is by how they handle a problem. There was an issue with the pluming in our room. The room is poorly soundproofed and you can clearly hear the people in the next room. And I saw the cockroach in the bathroom….The heater/AC is very aloud and I had trouble falling asleep because of that.
