We truly enjoyed our stay at Monarch Resort. The location is great — about a 10-minute walk to Asilomar State Park, where you can walk along the shore and enjoy the beautiful ocean views. This hotel is not a modern minimalist or abstract-art-style hotel. It actually reminded me more of hotels from the 90s or early 2000s. Great location. Friendly helpful staff. Clean room. We enjoyed our visit to the Monarch Resort. The room had a fireplace and partial ocean view. There is a pool and jacuzzi. Continental breakfast from 7:30 to 10 am. A very peaceful and over all great place to stay.

Very accommodating for late night check-in. Slightly dated, but very clean and comfortable room. No AC, but it was very cold and comfortable throughout the night. Had to turn off the fan in the morning and turn the heater on for a bit. Lots of parking, including covered spots. Amazing location, good clean pool and hot tub amenities. Very good FULL continental breakfast - waffles, fresh boiled eggs, juice, whole milk, bread and muffins and granola options to name a few. The coffee station had honey!

This is a small hotel near Monterey. It's right around the corner from the Monterey Monarch butterfly park, it's beautiful. The staff was very nice and helpful. The breakfast is ok, waffles, yogurt, juice, coffee etc. nothing big but enough to start the day. I love the fireplace in the room. It's perfect for the cooler evening. We will keep this hotel on the list to come back.

The location is everything about this place! I will never stay anywhere else but here when I go to Monterey. Super close to a bunch of hiking trails. It's also quiet and yet poppin. The hot dog spot across the street is totally a bonus. Plus the hot tub with complimentary towels is a super bonus! Loved all the live plants growing in the building.
