The location is everything about this place! I will never stay anywhere else but here when I go to Monterey. Super close to a bunch of hiking trails. It's also quiet and yet poppin. The hot dog spot across the street is totally a bonus. Plus the hot tub with complimentary towels is a super bonus! Loved all the live plants growing in the building.

The room and the location is really nice! I would've liked a breakfast with more than bread and hard boiled eggs (maybe some scrambled eggs instead?), but overall it was a great stay! The staff is very accommodating and I really appreciated how flexible they were for my stay.

This appears to be an upscale resort, but the room furnishings are mid at best. If you like a really firm mattress, this is your place. I suffer from joint pain, and had to put down a layer of pillows on the mattress in order to sleep. The continental breakfast was okay. The highlight of the room was the real, wood-burning fireplace.

Old footprint managed with care. Above average breakfast for value pricing. Rooms included a fire place with log and a deck. Pool was heated in winter. Staff was above average. Highly recommend when price is right.

Wonderful hotel. Seems dated but still very nice. Loved the real fire place in our room which comes with a starter log. Also loved the plants throughout the hotel. Staff was very helpful and had plenty of information about the area and where to go. Great location right next to 17 mile drive and a short walk to the beach. Would absolutely stay here again.
