Very convenient location to all things San Diego. We came to visit the San Diego Zoo which was about 15-20 mins away. Parking is tight, but the overall look is great. Just a pool, no spa, but the kids still had fun. Service was great and the continental breakfast was good. Highly recommend.

My mom and I fell in love with our hotel. Last week, I sundennly needed to be at SDSU for a conference, desperately calling all near by hotels for a room ready in a matter of hours with a good rate near SDSU. Lamplighter gave me TWO options. I believe I had a king for 180 something, and I was SOLD. No early check in fees, not an inconvenience, and this rate was perfect for me. Rooms very clean, had to move our own belongings to different room when housekeeping used bleach to clean room the smell. Mentioned twice about refrigerator not working properly ( nothing done) Be sure you book directly Thur motel…no refund if you don’t and have to leave early! Free breakfast saved money. Older but nice motel.

Stayed here while we shopped for a place for my son to live in while he attends SDSU in the Fall. The beds are comfortable and the pillows are too (compared to many other hotels I’ve stayed at). The continental breakfast is actually pretty decent, not just pre-packaged pastries and drinks. It was really nice and quiet during our stay during the week but got busier over the weekend. Front lady Salma extremely rude and unhelpful. Rooms aren’t how they are advertised. I was willing to upgrade or figure out another option with them and wanted me to double book and that it’s not their problem. Won’t be going here again.
