Really enjoyed our stay. I love artsy hotels. We used Hilton points to stay on Valentine's day, but my husband said list price was like $200. The vibe was quirky. I especially liked the hotel elevator, which is covered from head to toe in stickers. Our room was spacy and clean, and staff was very helpful with any questions I had. Two minor critiques: the nearest parking garage is around the corner, and is not attached to the hotel. I stayed at the Versey Hotel in Chicago for 3 nights and was overall quite disappointed by the experience. I was staying on the second floor, and I was particularly surprised by the very large number of rooms on the floor. Unsurprisingly, this results in extremely small rooms. The bathroom was especially cramped, so much so that I had to stand in a corner of the room to be able to close the door. My kid lives in the area and has always recommended this hotel but I didn’t have a chance to stay there until now. It is a very nice and clean boutique hotel. Some noise from the street but that is to be expected. Convenient and adjacent to stores and shops nearby as well as the subway. I wanted to recognize Alekxa in particular at the front desk working the overnight shift. If you're looking for a cheap place in Chicago within walking distance of transportation, this is it. But you get what you pay for. Although the location is great you may be faced with lackluster cleaning, unexpected knocks with people asking for a few dollars, and antique infrastructure. The rooms weren't the cleanest and when we arrived there were hairs still left over on the cover sheet from the last occupants. Sort of a boutique style hotel now ran by Hilton. Great location, exceptional service, nice rooms. My room was clean and comfortable with nice linens, towels and a comfortable bed/pillows. WiFi was incredibly slow. People will complain about the small rooms and old school bathrooms, but I like the vintage vibe and enjoy staying in places that have personality and aren’t US cookie cutter chains.
