Extremely disappointing experience with Booking.com. I arrived at the property at night only to discover that the hotel no longer existed and had been demolished, with only a construction site in its place. There was no prior notice or warning about this situation. At 11 PM, I was left without accommodation and had to urgently find another place to stay on my own. I am a Bonvoy and Honors member among others. With high rankings in both programs My work results in stays at hotels more than my own house. That being said this is a nice hotel. The Location is good. The rooms are big. They are clean and the decore is nice. I like the old Dc feel that this hotel offers . Its unique. The beds and pillows are comfortable. We reserved a room here for a quick getaway for me and my husband. First of all "Hotel" is a lie! It is a MOTEL, like a renovated Motel 6. The person behind the counter sat there, arguing with me about the completely false advertising. It says they have room service, nope. The lobby was small and dank. The desk clerk rudely told us "You don't have to stay here!" And we DIDN'T! Plus they wanted a $200 deposit on top of the ridiculous $179 they were charging for a room on a Thursday night. We visited from abroad six years ago and the hotel was OK then. This year was a totally different story. The staff at the front desk isn't unfriendly, but doesn't seem to care a whole lot either. The first steps into the room took my breath away as you instantly smell the mildew. Everything is musty. The floors seem dirty and stained, the rooms are dark and outdated. Value for money is amazing. Check the location right next to the Pentagon for this price. I don't know how it was in the past but we got a very clean room, no bugs or anything. Some stuff recently refurbished. Yes, maybe a little old bathroom not like in a hotel but have you been to motels before?! I slept so well here. No surprise towing or loud noises, just a good night's rest. Staff was very friendly. Light didn't work cause a bulb was too old and they fixed it stat.
