Hotel DuPont was absolutely amazing and the perfect place for our wedding stay. We stayed there in August last year, and the service from start to finish was outstanding. The staff was attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming, which made a big difference during such an important weekend for us. The rooms were beautiful, comfortable, and well maintained. I stopped in this beautiful hotel when I was exploring downtown Wilmington and I'm so glad! The lobby is gorgeous and there is quite a lot of information about the history of the hotel and some cool facts about famous people who have stayed there. It's also connected to another food hall and there's a small gift shop, but check the website for their hours before going!

I chose the lux king suite. I stayed for 3 nights. The lobby area is like a dreamy museum. The time capsule of elegance comes to life here. Staff greeted me like I was in a movie. Everything everywhere was filled with prestige and charm that I was happy to take the elevator and walk to my room. The small vanity area before entering the bathroom could use updating as it looks a bit old and doesn't match the elegance of the rest of the suite. Bathroom was spacious and well-decorated. Went to dinner and a show (Matteo Bocelli) at the Hotel DuPont. Had a dinner reservation for 7 pm and the show began at 8 pm. We told our waiter Frank, the timing situation and he assured us we would have our food in time. We received our entrees at 7 minutes to 8 pm! My cousin - whose birthday we were celebrating - couldn't even finish her food and asked for a doggie bag. We had valet parked our car and were in the first 20-25 group of people waiting for cars. Very disappointing experience at this hotel. It’s suppose to be 5 stars I give it three at best. Our suite was very nice except of the large soaking tub. It leaked and has no stopper so I had to call engineering twice. Rm service? Forget about it on two occasions we waited for over an hour and had to call back down several times to complain and ask where is it? Twice we received stale Cheerios at 9 bucks a bowl! I could go on and on. Suffice it to say this grand old dame has seen much better days! Stay home!
