Hotel DuPont was absolutely amazing and the perfect place for our wedding stay. We stayed there in August last year, and the service from start to finish was outstanding. The staff was attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming, which made a big difference during such an important weekend for us. The rooms were beautiful, comfortable, and well maintained. The hotel is beautiful and quiet. No hot water from the sink or shower. Luckily the bath has hot water that could rival the suns temperature. I wish I could say you get what you paid for but at $600+ a night hot water works be great. The bed is super comfy.
How they can call this a 5 star hotel is baffling to me. First of all, when I made the reservation I mentioned it was our anniversary. When we checked in, there was not a single mention of this. I asked for a sleep/sound machine, (5 star hotel mind you), they never acknowledged that either. When we got to our room, (lux king suite), the outlets/heat wasn’t working. We called the front desk, they sent an “engineer” up. He tells us the GFI on the outlet keeps popping and we have to just keep resetting it…..ummm….again….5... read more
I stopped in this beautiful hotel when I was exploring downtown Wilmington and I'm so glad! The lobby is gorgeous and there is quite a lot of information about the history of the hotel and some cool facts about famous people who have stayed there. It's also connected to another food hall and there's a small gift shop, but check the website for their hours before going!
We were underwhelmed. The lobby was lavishly decorated for the holidays, but it was too cold to sit in. The bar was beautiful, but the service was indifferent. The only ladies room on the main level was closed. Ultimately, I was able to find one near the ballroom. Our room was large, and the bed was comfortable, but the wallpaper was peeling from the walls. There is a coffee maker, but no mugs - just two tiny paper cups.
