The hotel itself was nice and luxurious. The service from the staff was exceptional and extremely professional, from the cleaning crews to the lobby staff. Other than that, I don't think I got my money's worth. I paid nearly 2k a night. For the amount, I would expect better amenities and free parking. Parking is $60 a night, and it seems like there is no unlimited in-and-outs unless you get the valet. The hotel could do better with the price they charge per night. This hotel is gorgeous, comfortable, quiet, and a great place for a getaway in Santa Barbara. It is walking distance to the wharf. It is right on state street so you can walk to shopping, restaurants and bars. We loved our stay. Everyone that works here is so kind. It's a new favorite.

Hotel Californian is in convenient location, making it a place to park and walk to lots of great places, the pier, beach, restaurants (so many to chose from) shopping, harbor and more. Second stay here, first time we had a great room, this time we were in a very small room and it was cramped. Will not stay in that small of a size room again...plus our a/c went out and it was very uncomfortable. It did finally get fixed so we could sleep that night. All employees were very friendly and helpful.

A beautiful luxury boutique hotel with exceptional attention to detail. The architecture, design, and guest experience all feel curated and premium. You can immediately notice how much thought goes into both the in-person experience and the visual identity online. Hotels with this level of presentation create stronger guest loyalty and much better organic marketing.

“Service can be inconsistent” So, we arrived in the early afternoon. Room not ready - unsurprising, really, since check-in time was about 3 hrs later. But showed back up 3 hrs later, and still no room. Lots of other people waiting for rooms as well. Offered a drink in the bar - another hour passed, still don’t have our room available. These things happen, but it seems as though the staff doesn’t have a plan available for dealing with these sorts of things - feels like they’re winging it.
