We are local and recently had to stay here for 5 nights because our hvac broke. The staff are simply exceptional. I feel like good customer service is hard to come by these days - but every single one of these folks, reception, maintenance, valet, housekeeping - was so friendly and kind. The hotel location is great and the rooms appear quite spacious. Parking is valet-only. We arrived on Friday at about 8 pm and there was no place to pull over and unload. We circled the block for about 20 minutes and eventually called the front desk. Even then, we had to double-park to unload, but at least the valet showed up. Amber, the manager at the front desk, not only belittled me but also mishandled the entire interaction with her staff. I drove four hours and spent 80,000 Choice Hotel points to stay here, only to be given a room that was in unacceptable condition. Two team members quietly mentioned that the hotel has “old rooms” and “new rooms,” and it was obvious I was placed in one of the old ones. Completely not what was expected based on photos, based on the calls to the front desk for reservations. Extremely disappointed with this hotel from the point of driving up to going to the front desk checking in. Staff could not delivery any solutions to the issues. Realizing and expecting a premiere boutique hotel - there was no facilities for our dog to go potty no designated areas. There were a lot of homeless people walking about. It was not safe. I’ve stayed here many times for the past 5 years. The hotel itself is clean and unique in its design, the rooms are comfortable and spacious, and its location is impossible to beat downtown. The staff have always been very friendly, as well; this past visit, Jenna was extremely welcoming and made our stay even better than it was!
