My wife and I stayed in the Grand King Suite for our Honeymoon and it was exactly what we wanted and for way less than I expected to pay. You can tell that the hotel is going through some updates (small paint touch ups missing, older fridges, TVs had different channels), but none of that was what we were there for. This place is absolutely amazing! We were searching for a room on the same day and luckily, Jeanna helped us out. The hotel is stunning, and our room was incredible - clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The location is fantastic, and the room exceeded our expectations. Even better, they offered us champagne as we checked in! We also used the gym, which is a bit small but still functional. Stayed there about 7 years ago. Very interesting boutique hotel in the center of Ashville. Nice, good size rooms. Cafe on first floor. Received complimentary continental breakfast. Can not remember why. Ashville is the home of country music. Jimmy Rogers, the singing brakeman, lived there for a while

Tried to check in early. Room wasn't available. Fine, walked town and had late lunch - Town was dead. Came back in 1.5 hr room still not available. Sat in lobby. Deck Clerk checked in other guests but still wouldn't check us in. Asked if we could get another room that was ready. No had to take room assigned. Asked if housekeeping could focus on our assigned room - Clerk said yes but made no effort. We decided to walk away from our full price deposit, $200 and left. Beautiful hotel, good service, great location and comfy beds (and I never say that about hotel beds). It is an older building so sound carries. The rooms are definitely not sound proof. I would not plan on sleeping past 10:30 or so if you stay here. I'm up before then, but still something to note if it impacts you. Maybe bring earplugs if you are planning to sleep late.
