This place was ideal for a weekend trip. The rooms were nice and clean. The kitchenette was a nice touch even though we didn’t use it. The bed was so comfortable. I don’t usually sleep well away from home but I slept great here. The pool area was beautiful and clean. The variety of pools were nice and I especially enjoyed the pools being open early and closing late. I also liked that they had a snack bar with reasonably priced snacks available. The spa area was also very nice. The massage rooms were pretty basic, but I had a... read more
I’ve dreamed of doing a mud bath for years, but this experience at Calistoga Spa Hot Springs was deeply disappointing and honestly a bit upsetting. Despite booking a mud bath service, we were charged an additional $50 each just to access the pools—which were underwhelming and felt more like standard hotel pools than anything spa-worthy. The spa environment lacked all the basics you’d expect for a relaxing experience: no calming music, no tranquil atmosphere, and no thoughtful amenities. The robes were thin and flimsy. **Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Price** We booked the mud spa treatment and paid an extra $50 per person for access to the mineral pools. Unfortunately, the entire experience was underwhelming and overpriced. **Front Desk:** Despite being overstaffed, they were surprisingly unhelpful and indifferent. **Spa:** Easily the most bare-bones spa I’ve ever been to. For $212, the so-called 60-minute treatment was actually only 45 minutes, broken down like this: - 10-minute mud bath - 15-minute water bath - 5-minute ste... read more
While there were a few small positives: such as clean, updated rooms and complimentary robes, the overall experience was far from what was advertised. The resort positions itself as a rejuvenating spa getaway in the heart of wine country, but in reality, it felt more like a modestly renovated motel with limited amenities and a highly disappointing spa experience. Key issues: Misleading Marketing vs. Actual Experience: The website paints a picture of a serene, high-end spa destination with healing geothermal mineral pools an... read more
My friend and I booked at Calistoga Spa to enjoy a few days away from the world and we were not disappointed. We enjoyed soaking in the geothermal mineral pool to unwind at the end of the day. Our spa service did not disappoint. The attendant was kind and took the time to inform us of what we could expect, she frequently checked on us to ensure our comfort. The mud baths were a perfect way to rejuvenate. If you are planning to visit Napa Valley, this is the perfect place to stay.
