My parents and I stayed at Calistoga Hot Springs for three nights and had a nice stay. Since we visited during the week, it was not very crowded. The pools were great, and we liked having different water temperatures to choose from. Our room had a small kitchenette with everything we needed, and it was comfortable for our stay. The staff was nice enough and helpful when needed. The only thing we did not like was that there is no restaurant on the property. The property is clean and amenities like EV charging, kitchenettes, and outdoor seating and grilling in addition to the five geothermal pools is much appreciated; however the resort seems to have a bit of an identity crisis in regards to who it is targeting. I’ve been several times before and it was much more family friendly; however with the spa and mud bath emphasis the property seems to be trying to up level itself. I have visited here many times. It never disappoints. Beautiful setting as you enjoy the pools, the fire pit at night and the sound of water. Very relaxing. The mud bath is amazing. You are suspended in this wonderful volcanic ash, peat moss, mineral water mixture. After the mud bath I was treated to a mineral bath, a eucalyptus stream bath and finally a cooling table to rest. We have been coming here for over forty years and have watched the place go from a cheap, funky hotel to an expensive funky hotel. We love the pools but it has become harder and harder to pay the prices they now charge. The rooms have been updated a bit and are comfortable, but definately could do better with amenities like bottled water. This time the pool area was terrible. Garbage all around the chairs. We recently had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful property, and despite a noisy night caused by other guests in the hallway, the experience overall was truly wonderful.
