Five star experience! We are Best Western Rewards Members and I have never been treated so well! My front desk experience was outstanding. I was upgraded upon arrival (without asking) and accommodated when I needed to extend my stay. Valet parking was great and the attendant was always quick and so very courteous. Breakfast at Mei's was lovely and the coupon at check-in was very appreciated. The bakery was also helpful when we needed a quick snack a couple of times. Amazing location, right on Michigan Ave in Chicago, very accessible to transportation. A little bit noisy from the street but not that much. The walls are not thin in the rooms which is great. Staff are helpful and kind. The best thing about it is that Paris Baguette was right downstairs. This is the BEST place to have pastries, coffee and breakfast generally. Definitely one of the biggest advantages of Grant Park Hotel. Overall, I had a great experience.
Very basic hotel room, a bit outdated, a bit dull. No bells and whistles really. BUT it was very clean. If you are a light sleeper just bring some ear plugs as you can hear neighbouring doors closing/slamming. Rooms have a little fridge, a safe, single use amenities in the bathroom. I stayed recently as I want to the Beyoncé concerts at Soldier Field. Its the perfect location for that a quick walk over, no waiting for cabs or paying for those bicycle guys. Great location for tourist. Museums, Pier, parks, shopping all are walkable or a short uber trip. Valet parking flat rate. The staff is helpful and friendly. There is a cafe/bakery on the main floor- was delicious. The 2 property disappointments are none of the 3 ice machines were operating and the shower in the room left a puddle of water. Updated review (posted Feb 28): I spoke to the general manager on Feb 24th about compensation for the issue and missing items. He promised we’d get valet parking refunded and the hotel stay refunded. So far, as of Feb 28th, we’ve only gotten valet refunded. Original review (posted Feb 23): They (without permission) changed our reservation, took our belongings, and threw out other items we had, costing us probably $200+.
