The Barfield is a great hotel with gorgeous decor and consistent upmarket western theme throughout. The rooms are spacious, well laid out, very tastefully decorated and clean. They are also well equipped with a smart tv and espresso coffee machine. The bed is very comfortable too. The food is also a high standard. We recently stayed at The Barfield. The hotel itself is clean and well-presented. From a design and aesthetic standpoint, the hotel is absolutely exceptional. Unfortunately, the nighttime environment outside was extremely concerning. There were motorcycles and loud vehicles racing through the streets, people yelling, and we clearly heard approximately 9–10 gunshots followed by police sirens. My family and I stayed here during a stopover in Amarillo. This hotel far exceeded our expectations. From a helpful and friendly front desk and doorman to excellent food and drinks. The 100 year old building is unassuming from the exterior, but the interior is high end in a way that doesn't feel out ouf place. The crossed pistols inlays in various parts of the floor are very cool. Staff was friendly, dropped off chocolates for my wife and I to our room and gave our dog a milk bone and branded bandana. Amazing location! The hotel is beautiful and surprisingly convenient. Lots of great restaurant choices nearby and the staff is super helpful ands friendly. Our room was very nice and laid out well. My only complaint is they use flat sheets instead of fitted ones so the sheets come off and get all wrinkled beneath you. Everything else was great.

Hotel room and decor of lobby and the concept of the speakeasy bar are top notch. There is a wild west with cattle theme. My only negative for my 1 day stay is the heater did not work, we stay in late December, was very cold. It would come on like 10% of the time when the room temp was clearly much lower than the set temp, it was stuck in "STANDBY" and tried fiddling with it for over an hour. The bathroom exhaust vent didn't work. And our robe, had coffee brown stains on it. We stayed on the 10th floor, view was great. Room... read more
